Forecast description
Tropical Low 12U
A weak tropical low forecast to form in the Arafura Sea.
- A tropical low, 12U may develop in the Arafura Sea, near the Top End late in the week.
- 12U is likely to remain slow moving and develop only slowly during this weekend.
- The risk of the tropical low becoming a tropical cyclone increases next week on Monday.

Tropical Low 13U
A tropical low may develop in the far northern Coral Sea.
- A small tropical low, 13U, may form along a trough in the far northern Coral Sea, near Louisiade Archipelago, Papua New Guinea.
- If 13U forms it may move initially to the south, and interact with a trough system to the south in the middle of the week.
- 13U may quickly weaken as it interacts with the trough, however there is a very slight chance 13U isn't weakened and develops to a tropical cyclone. Movement becomes highly uncertain in this scenario, but a track towards the Far North Queensland Coast cannot be completely ruled out.
